Following the tips below for transporting your grill tank will help ensure your safety:

• Close and plug the valve before moving your grill tank. Also check for any signs of damage or gas leaks.
• Keep propane cylinders upright at all times during transit to reduce the risk of leaks and pressure build-up.
• Place the tank in a truck bed if possible. If not, make sure your car is well-ventilated by rolling down the windows.
• Avoid leaving the tank in a hot car. If dropping off a tank, make that your first stop. If it’s full, go straight home without other errands.
• No smoking or vaping while transporting a propane tank.

Where to Store a Grill Tank

Properly and safely storing a grill tank includes:

• Keep it outside in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
• Ensure it’s on level ground and away from any ignition sources.
• Secure it during inclement weather and never smoke near the tank.

• Place your new cylinder in the grill’s designated compartment.
• Tighten the restraining bolt if your grill has one.
• Attach the pressure regulator to the valve and tighten securely.
