Clean-burning Bioheat® fuel
As part of our commitment to fuel efficiency and energy conservation, Rucci delivers Bioheat® fuel. This is the industry’s official name for a fuel that consists of a blend of ultra-low-sulfur heating oil and renewable biodiesel that’s made from organic and recycled products, including soybean oil, inedible corn oil, canola, tallow, fats and algae.
We were one of the first companies in our area to voluntarily deliver this product, before it was mandated in New York City.
Green Bioheat® fuel and the clean-fuel credit
Bioheat® fuel is good both for the environment and for fuel efficiency. It burns extremely cleanly, and it’s compatible with any system that uses conventional heating oil.
New York State encourages the use of clean-burning Bioheat® fuel, providing a 20¢-per-gallon credit on your state income taxes. As a result, a Rucci customer who lives in New York and uses 800 gallons of Bioheat® fuel qualifies for a $160 clean-fuel tax credit every year.
