Don’t look now, but we’re approaching the halfway point of fall 2020 – which means that winter won’t be far behind here in Staten Island and New Jersey. With all that’s happening in the world, the last think you want to be thinking about this time of year is replacing your commercial heating system.
The problem is that the alternative to replacing that heating system may well be having no heat at all – a problem that could shutter your business at a time you can’t afford a work stoppage.
Questions To Consider When Deciding To Replace A Commercial Heat System
If you’re not sure if your worksite or office heating system needs to be repaired or replaced, a good place to start (besides contacting Rucci, of course) is to ask yourself these three questions:
How many repairs has your heating system had recently? Frequent heating repairs are a bad sign and costly expense when it comes to large, commercial heating systems. If you have had more than two or three significant heating repairs in recent years, or are facing a repair that costs at least half the price of replacement (especially on an older system – see #3 below), it’s probably time to bite the bullet and invest in a new, reliable heating system.
How is your commercial heater performing? If your commercial heating is struggling to keep your workers comfortable, or if you notice uneven heating performance or rising heating bills despite the fact that heating oil or natural gas prices have been consistent (a sign of diminishing efficiency), it’s time to consider a new system.
How old is your commercial heater? Age plays a big role in determining whether to repair or replace your commercial heating system. Even well-maintained equipment will only last about 20 years or so, and performance drop-offs can start to happen long before that. If your system is well into its second decade and is experiencing any of the problems discussed above, it is time to contact a commercial heating expert to discuss a new, high efficiency heating system.
